On-Campus residents have the option of having a telephone in their room. The cost for the line is 40 dollars per semester. Students are responsible for providing their own touch-tone phone. If your telephone doesn't work, check to be sure that it is not the instrument by plugging in a different phone. If the line still doesn't work, call Telephone Services by dialing “0”.
Students are prohibited from using the phone to place any 900 calls, accepting collect or third party calls, or billing any other services of the university for a call. Any non-authorized calls or services charged to a university telephone number will be charged back to the individuals involved with a 100 % handling surcharge.
When making off campus calls, you must precede the number with a 9 for local calls or an 8 for long distance calls.
When you wish to place an on-campus call, that is from an on-campus phone to an on-campus phone, it is only necessary to dial the last four digits of the seven digit phone number (dial without the 785).. Residents are allowed to use phone cards from other carriers and may place both 800 and 888 toll free calls.
